A childhood pastime of bending paper clips into a triangle shape and setting them so they pop and spring into the air was the inspiration for this explosive game. Using the canister as the playing surface elevated the action and never knowing when the pile could blow created the drama. Originally called “Badaboom!”, Boom Blast Stix was a collaboration with my colleague Jeremy Posner and was a 2018 TOTY Award finalist.
